The United Arab Emirates and the Indian state of Rajasthan have jointly announced a major investment collaboration, signing a memorandum of understanding to develop renewable energy projects with a total installed capacity of 60GW

According to the memorandum, the project will be officially launched ahead of the upcoming “Revitalizing Rajasthan” investment summit and will cover the construction of solar, wind and mixed energy projects. The project, with a planned total investment of approximately Rs 3 trillion (approximately US $36 billion), is an important part of the UAE’s extensive investment cooperation with India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

This partnership between the UAE and Rajasthan will not only greatly enhance the state’s renewable energy capacity, but will also be a key force in helping India achieve its broader clean energy goals. Although the official statement did not reveal further details, the UAE Investment Ministry said it would appoint the right developer to implement the landmark project and work closely with the relevant Indian authorities to ensure the smooth progress of the project.

This cooperation not only highlights the importance the UAE attaches to India’s renewable energy market, but also reflects the Indian government’s strong determination to promote clean energy development.
